The gift of a snowy day

Another snow storm came in last night, so today started out with shoveling the driveway and an hour and a half drive to work. Now, to put that in perspective, my drive is normally about 25 minutes. Nevertheless, all I could see on my way to work was the beauty of white, how the snow cloaked the trees, and the cloud cast a haze over the landscape.

So, you tell me ... what else should one do when driving at 1 mph for 11 miles! Below is what I would have seen for all that time if I hadn't been picking up my camera periodically to capture the beauty.

    Such a lovely photo ( well not of the string of cars) but agree that the snow is simply gorgeous. Have been thinking of you and wondering how your hike was! Hope that your thanksgiving was lovely also!

    I never thought I'd say this about snow, but lucky you!!!
    It has been so unseasonably mild here in NY with temps in the 60s up until a couple of days ago. I am worried that there will be no snow for Santa's sleigh!! :-)

    Gift of a snowy day. Personnally i hate the stuff! But when i see images like that i could, perhaps, be convinced to change my mind. Normally one would ewant the snow to be undisturbed, but here those tyre tracks really help by guiding the eye into the picture.
    A great image!
    But i still hate the stuff !!!

    Ah...I greatly enjoyed seeing your before and after processing! Its wonderful to see a snowy day. I just don't get those here in San Antonio. Been getting lots of rain though. And for the rain I am very thankful!
